When Caleb was just 4 years old his family moved to Kenya where his parents served as career medical missionaries.  While the medical work itself always made him feel a bit squeamish, he nonetheless grasped the emphasis on serving the underserved which was beautifully modeled by his parents.  He went on to study Water Resources Engineering at the University of Illinois and did further graduate work in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan Technology University.    He and his wife, Krista, and their three boys have been serving with a medical team at Kibuye Hope Hospital in Burundi for the last 9 years where Caleb heads up the construction and maintenance teams.  His main focus has been implementing the 20-year Masterplan for the hospital as developed by Engineering Ministries International.  He is passionate about creating infrastructure and systems that are ’simple and robust’ which allow the medical staff in the hospital to provide compassionate care for their patients.
